Missing Hogwarts? Warner Bros. CEO Wants More Harry Potter Movies

David Zaslav indicated that Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is interested in exploring more of the company’s franchises, such as Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and DC films during a call with investors.

Zaslav said, in a loose translation, “We haven’t had a Superman movie in 13 years. We haven’t made a Harry Potter movie in 15 years. The DC movies and the Harry Potter movies have provided a lot of profits for Warner Bros.… for the last 25 years. I would like to see if we can do something with J.K. in Harry Potter going forward”.

The public reaction, however, may be different than expected. Since the author responsible for the Harry Potter books has been publicly transphobic on several occasions, causing many fans to stop consuming products from the franchise.
