Pitch Perfect 4? Rebel Wilson Mentions Possible Sequel

More than a decade after the release of the first film in the franchise, the actress responsible for the role of “Fat Amy” stated during an interview with BBC Radio 2’s Gaby Roslin that the fourth film is in the works.

Despite not knowing the focus of the new script, the actress confirmed that there is a script in development. “I know we’re older now, so I don’t know exactly what the plot will be. I think they need to get the script right first, which is the age dilemma,” she added.

Rebel Wilson shared details in an interview about how, for her, filming the films in the franchise was more than just acting, as she always had fun singing and dancing.

In 2022, a spin-off of the Barden Bellas universe focusing on the story of the character Bumper and his musical career was released by the streaming platform Peacock and, despite having been renewed for the second season, its cancellation was confirmed during the Hollywood strikes.

For now, there is no release date or official announcement of a new film. The three films together grossed approximately $588 million at the global box office (via Box Office Mojo), with the third film having the worst rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with just 28% approval from critics.
