A Success In Theaters, There Is No Date For ‘Barbie’ to be added to streaming platforms
If you were waiting to watch the film in the comfort of your own home, wearing pink pajamas, that wait just got a few more days.
If in 2021, all films released by Warner Bros. had their simultaneous premiere in theaters and streaming, two years later the company is investing in another marketing strategy and taking advantage of the film’s success in theaters.
According to David Zaslav, titles must wait at least 45 days to be added to streaming platforms.
Taking this release window into account, ‘Barbie’ should arrive on Max (formerly HBO Max) during the fall (September 2023).
Barbie premiered in theaters on July 20 and has already grossed more than 800 million dollars.
